Dr. Neelofer Basaria

Dr. Neelofer Basaria is a Public Health Practitioner, Holistic Health Coach, Yoga Instructor, and founder of True Living.

Dr. Basaria takes an integrative approach to health and wellness, with a comprehensive focus on a person’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. Her approach includes using physical activity and food as medicine, working on developing healthy relationships and finding career satisfaction for mental and emotional balance, and using mindfulness, meditation, breathing techniques and yoga- to name a few- as ways to manage stress.

Dr. Basaria’s career in health and wellness spans around 20 years in which she has worked with various institutions in the area of preventive care and life style modifications; public health program design and evaluation; applied research and data analytics; as well as population health research and behavior health. Her formal education includes a Master of Science in Biochemistry, which allowed her to acquire a deep understanding of the workings of the human body at a cellular level. She then went on to study population health and behavior change and obtained her Master in Science in Health Promotion followed by a Doctorate in Public Health Practice. She considers herself as a life long learner in the area of holistic health and mind body medicine. She has acquired certification in health coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. As part of this program she studied with the world’s top health and wellness experts including but not limited to Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; and Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University.   Dr. Basaria uses her training in health sciences; applied research, behavior change and health coaching to work with her clients to provide them with an understanding of how food and physical activity can be used as a natural remedy for various health conditions and provide scientific evidence behind how healthy relationships, mindfulness, meditation and various relaxation techniques are key to optimal health and have a lasting impact on a person’s overall health and well-being.   Through her coaching, speaking and community work, she has inspired people to eat well, manage stress and lead a vibrant, healthy life without feeling hungry, deprived or dissatisfied. Her goal is to use a holistic approach to transform the overall health of the community of people she works with.   Dr. Basaria lives in Lewisville, TX with her wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters. They love to ride bikes, go on nature hikes and prepare healthy gourmet food together as a family.
