My Approach

Different health coaches operate differently. Here’s what I focus on in my health coaching.

As a public health practitioner, working in the area of health for about 20 years now, I often get asked the question: “What is healthy?” I have been asked questions about all the contradictory research and misleading marketing about food, supplements and nutrition in general. I can relate to these questions and understand peoples’ confusion about what to eat in order to feel healthy, energized and vibrant, avoid those nagging cravings, maintain a healthy weight, and avoid pain and digestion issues.   Through my doctoral training in health sciences, not only have I learned how to make sense of the cutting edge research but also how to take a step-by-step approach to change undesired behaviors into healthy ones. I will help you to navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to make sense out of the chaos that’s out there. I know that each person has individual needs and personalities and that no one diet or approach is right for everyone. Hence, the way I work with my clients is to help them get in touch with their own body’s needs. As your Health Coach, I will listen to you carefully, identify what is holding you back, and then by taking your input and feedback, together we will create a realistic plan for your optimal health.   I incorporate the concept of primary foods a great deal in my coaching sessions with my clients. You may ask what are the primary foods? Primary foods include healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual awareness, all of which are essential forms of nourishment. It’s easy to overlook these but when “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.   Through my personal experience and training, I have understood that learning to manage stress is one of the key steps towards optimal health. With my training in yoga and meditation, I will address this more deeply with you and will provide you with the support you need.

  • We will have deep, meaningful conversations so that we can get down to the root causes of what’s standing in the way of your optimal health.
  • Since I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, I will look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising?
  • My work with each client is different. So you can expect a custom tailored program just for you to meet your health needs.
  • As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback.
  • I am not into counting calories. If you take care of your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual areas of life, you will find yourself less obsessed with counting calories and more in tuned with fueling your body with fresh, nutritious food that makes you feel fulfilled, vibrant and comfortable in your own body.
  • My goal is for you to become your healthiest, most confident self, and my promise to you is that I will fully commit myself to giving you clarity on how to make that happen.
